If you know, you know: Taiwanese Wuyi plants make unforgettable dark teas. This Hong Shui Oolong cake is our homage to that legacy- bold, complex, and layered like an old story.
Pressed from gently rolled, organic spring leaves, this cake carries the soul of Wuyi tea bushes brought to Taiwan from Fujian over a century ago. Today, this cultivar is rare- set aside in favour of lighter, fragrant teas. But we cherish it for what it does best- it ages really well.
In Taiwan, elders keep precious jars of aged Wuyi high on the shelf, shared only with those who truly listen. This cake is our version of that gesture-a portable treasure- ready to reveal its secrets, steep by steep.
In taste notes a bit similar to bug bitten teas, You will find- spices, roasted nuts, stewed fruit, and a hint of fresh tobacco leaf. Smooth, brisk tannins carry stone fruit tang and a lasting, quenching finish.
Why You’ll Love It
-
Rarity: Direct descendants of original Wuyi plants, now seldom grown in Taiwan.
-
Depth: Bold yet nuanced -each infusion unveils new layers.
-
Age-Worthy: Pressed for slow, graceful aging.
-
Heritage in a Cake: Taste the history, without the pilgrimage.
